Glasgow Theatre Royal – Marmion – 1892
An original programme from the Theatre Royal, Glasgow, dated 19 September 1892, for Marmion, with W E Bonney, Roy Cochrane and Forrest Niven.
The drama is based on Sir Walter Scott’s epic poem of 1808, a tale of treachery and chivalry that builds to the Battle of Flodden in 1513, and Scott’s works were hugely popular on the Victorian Scottish stage.
A splendid piece of Scottish theatre history, this is a desirable item among old theatre programmes of the 1890s.
