London Olympic Theatre – Two Orphans – 1878

A rare Victorian programme from the Olympic Theatre, London, dated 11 November 1878, for The Two Orphans, with Frank Archer, Lizzie Coote, Marion Terry and Henry Neville.

Adapted from the French melodrama Les Deux Orphelines by Adolphe d’Ennery and Eugène Cormon, the story follows two young women, one of them blind, cast adrift in the dangerous streets of 18th-century Paris.

Programmes from the 1870s are scarce today, making this an important piece for collectors of old theatre programmes.
