London New Theatre – Ever Since Paradise – 1947
An original theatre programme for J. B. Priestley’s Ever Since Paradise at the New Theatre, London, from 1947.
Priestley called this playful comedy about love and marriage “a discursive entertainment”, mixing music and commentary with scenes from a couple’s romance.
The cast includes Roger Livesey, Ursula Jeans, Dennis Arundell, Jane Car, Joy Shelton and Hugh Kelly.
A Priestley rarity with a fine post-war cast, this is a lovely example of old theatre programmes and a charming piece of theatre memorabilia.
