London Hippodrome Theatre – Starlight Roof 1947 – Julie Andrews
An original theatre programme for Starlight Roof at the Hippodrome Theatre, London, in 1947. A very young Julie Andrews had a bit part in this revue, her first play, appearing with Vic Oliver, Fred Emney, Michael Bentine and Lucille Gaye.
It marked the beginning of a career that would lead to My Fair Lady, Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music. A wonderful example of old theatre programmes charting the early days of a true legend of stage and screen.
