Liverpool Empire Theatre – Variety Show – 1912 – Football Dogs
An original variety show programme from the Liverpool Empire Theatre, dated 9 September 1912. The bill includes the Football Dogs and Jack Smiles.
Novelty animal acts were great favourites on the music hall circuit, and a troupe of dogs playing football would have been a guaranteed hit with Liverpool audiences.
Pre-First World War music hall programmes are wonderful social documents and much loved among old theatre programmes and football-related theatre memorabilia.
