London Royal Globe Theatre – The Arabian Nights – 1887

An original Victorian theatre programme for The Arabian Nights at the Royal Globe Theatre, London, dated 9 November 1887. The cast included Carolotta Zerbini, Agnes Miller, Lottie Vene, F C Glover, Gertrude Goetze and Vane Featherston.

Despite its title, the piece was a lively farce of domestic mix-ups by Sydney Grundy, adapted from a German original, in which a husband’s wish to play Haroun al Raschid lands him in trouble.

A scarce programme from a lost Victorian playhouse and a fine example of old theatre programmes.
