London Princes Theatre – School For Scandal – 1885

A Victorian theatre programme from the Princes Theatre, London, dated 10 February 1885, for Richard Brinsley Sheridan’s comedy The School for Scandal.

The principal cast includes Arthur Sterling, Courtenay Thorpe, Mr Lin Rayne and Miss Kate Pattison, performing one of the most revived comedies of manners in the English repertoire.

Programmes from the 1880s survive in far smaller numbers than later ones, which makes them prized by collectors of old theatre programmes and anyone interested in the late Victorian London stage.
