This George Edwardes ( of Gaiety fame ) Theatre was often used by him to extend a run and here Mr Abud’s Touring company ( from The Haymarket Theatre) featured a touring cast supplemented by Henry Renouf who performed the famous romantic 4 act play a swashbuckling tale of a gentleman rogue in Richlieu’s France which was widely acclaimed, and was dramatised for the stage in 1896, and also adapted for the screen some forty years later.
