London 24 Belgrave Square – Miss Lascelles Matinee Musicale 1862
An extremely rare and early concert programme for Miss Lascelles Matinee Musicale at 24 Belgrave Square, London, dated 23 May 1862, held by kind permission of the Marchioness of Downshire.
The programme includes music by Berger, Rossini, Membre, Marras and B Reeves among others, and tickets were priced at half a guinea each. Private matinee concerts in grand town houses were a fashionable part of the London Season.
A remarkable survivor of high Victorian society music-making, and a special piece of musical memorabilia.
