London Lyric Theatre – Habeas Corpus – 1973 – Alan Bennett
An original programme for Alan Bennett’s Habeas Corpus at the Lyric Theatre, London, dated 10 May 1973. The cast includes Patricia Hayes, John Bird, Andrew Sachs and Christopher Good.
Bennett’s saucy farce revolves around the lusty Brighton GP Arthur Wicksteed and a household consumed by desire, mistaken identity and dropped trousers.
Early Alan Bennett stage material is keenly collected, making this a lovely addition to any collection of theatre programmes from the 1970s West End.
