London Aldwych Theatre – London Assurance – 1970 Judi Dench
An original programme from the RSC’s Aldwych Theatre, London, 1970/71, for Dion Boucicault’s comedy London Assurance, with Judi Dench, Donald Sinden, Jeffery Dench, Christopher Biggins, Anthony Pedley and Sydney Bromley.
The play follows the ageing dandy Sir Harcourt Courtly, who sets out to marry the young heiress Grace Harkaway, only to be outwitted by his own son.
The Royal Shakespeare Company’s revival was a major success, and this is a much-collected 1970s theatre programme.
