London National Theatre – Royal Hunt Of The Sun – 1964

An original theatre programme for The Royal Hunt Of The Sun by Peter Shaffer, presented by the National Theatre in London in 1964.

Shaffer’s epic drama tells of the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro’s conquest of the Inca empire and his strange relationship with the god-king Atahualpa.

It was one of the early triumphs of the newly formed National Theatre company, then based at the Old Vic. Early National Theatre productions are highly collectable theatre memorabilia, and this is a landmark title.
