London Aldwych Theatre – Staircase – 1967 – Patrick Magee
An original theatre programme for Staircase at the Aldwych Theatre, London, from February 1967. The cast features Patrick Magee and Paul Scofield, with Roger Lloyd Pack.
Charles Dyer’s bittersweet two-hander portrays two ageing barbers who share a flat above their shop in south London, and was a bold subject for the stage before theatre censorship ended in 1968.
Two of the finest actors of their generation together make this a superb item among old theatre programmes.
