London Piccadilly Theatre – Rape Of The Belt – 1957 Attenborough
An original programme from the Piccadilly Theatre, London, dated 12 December 1957, for Benn W. Levy’s comedy The Rape of the Belt, with Veronica Turleigh, Judeth Furse, Richard Attenborough and Kay Hammond.
The play is a witty retelling of the Greek legend in which Heracles must seize the girdle of Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, poking fun at the battle of the sexes along the way.
With a future Oscar-winning director in the cast, this is an attractive piece among old theatre programmes of the 1950s.
