Hove Cliftonville Church – Dick Whittington – 1953
An original programme for Dick Whittington at Cliftonville Church, Hove, Sussex, from 1953. The cast includes Ann Maplesden, Clive Lassitter, Wendy Lamb and Nina Pelling.
The story of the poor boy who comes to London with his cat, seeking streets paved with gold, has been a pantomime favourite for generations.
Church and community pantomime programmes rarely survive, so this is a delightful piece of local theatre memorabilia from Hove.
