Bristol Hippodrome Theatre – Kings Rhapsody – 1950s
An original theatre programme for Ivor Novello’s romantic musical Kings Rhapsody at the Hippodrome Theatre, Bristol, thought to date from the early 1950s.
The cast includes Patricia Bint, Daphne Silk, Barbara Leigh, Bary Sinclair, Elizabeth French and Eric Sutherland.
Novello’s lavish Ruritanian operettas were hugely popular touring shows, and this is a lovely example of 1950s theatre programmes from a classic Frank Matcham venue.
