London Prince Of Wales Theatre Strike A New Note 1943 Morecambe
An original programme for the revue Strike A New Note at the Prince Of Wales Theatre, London, in 1943.
The show marked the West End debut of the great comedian Sid Field, and the cast includes a teenage Eric Morecambe, aged 18, and Ernie Wise, aged 17, who were not yet working as a double act.
Also on the bill are the Jerry Allen Trio, Tony Bateman and Ester Fisher. Catching both a comedy legend’s breakthrough and the future Morecambe & Wise before they teamed up, this is an exceptional piece of theatre memorabilia.
