Liverpool Royal Court Theatre – No ! No ! Nanette – 1945
An original programme for No ! No ! Nanette at the Royal Court Theatre, Liverpool, dated 13 May 1945, just days after VE Day. The cast includes Bertha Russell, Mignon Jarrold, Cecil Wayne, Brian Faubert, Florence Woodgate and Anne Bolt.
Vincent Youmans’s sunny 1920s musical comedy, with lyrics by Irving Caesar and Otto Harbach, follows a respectable Bible publisher’s secret and chaotic generosity.
Dating from the celebratory weeks after victory in Europe, this is a cheerful example of old theatre programmes.
