Manchester Palace Theatre – Ladies Night – 1934 – Signed
An original theatre programme for Ladies Night at the Palace Theatre, Manchester, dated 16 April 1934, autographed on the front cover by star comedian Sydney Howard. The cast also includes Rachel Fry.
The farce, famously set in a Turkish bath, was a vehicle for broad comedy, and Howard’s gentle, fluttering style made him a firm favourite with northern audiences.
A signed 1930s programme is a fine piece of theatre memorabilia and a great example of old theatre programmes from Manchester.
