London Theatre Royal – Becket – 1905
Two original pages, the front and the cast list, cut from a programme for Becket at the Theatre Royal, London, dated 29 April 1905, and preserved in a scrapbook. Henry Irving leads the cast with Gerald Lawrence.
Irving had first staged Tennyson’s drama at the Lyceum in 1893, and Thomas Becket became one of his most admired roles. A poignant relic of Irving’s final year on stage and a fine piece of Edwardian theatre memorabilia.
