London St James Theatre – The Danischeffs – 1877

An original programme for The Danischeffs at the St James’s Theatre, London, dated 27 January 1877. The cast featured Charles Warner, George Darrell, Hermann Vezin, Fanny Addison, Lydia Foote and Edith Challis.

The play, a drama of Russian aristocratic life, was adapted from the French piece Les Danicheff, which had been a success in Paris in 1876.

Programmes from the 1870s are genuinely scarce, making this an excellent example of early old theatre programmes for the serious collector.
