London Royal Adelphi Theatre – One Of The Best – 1896

An original theatre programme for One Of The Best at the Royal Adelphi Theatre, London, dated 10 February 1896.

This military melodrama was a typical Adelphi spectacle of the era, headed by the matinee idol William Terris, with Kate Kearney, Vane Weatherhouse, Edith Ostlere, Charles Fulton and Julian Cross in the cast.

The Adelphi was the home of rousing Victorian melodrama and Terris was its biggest draw, so this is a fine example of old theatre programmes from one of the Strand’s most famous houses.
