London Criterion Theatre – Pink Dominos – 1877
A Victorian theatre programme for Pink Dominos at the Criterion Theatre, London, dated 1 September 1877. The names include Phillip Day, Mr H Standing, Mr J Clarke, Cammille Dubois, Maria Davis and Nelly Harris.
James Albery adapted this farce from the French Les Dominos Roses. Its plot, about masked flirtations at a ball at Cremorne Gardens, was thought very risque at the time, and that helped make it the big hit of the London season.
A rare Victorian survivor among old theatre programmes.
