London Criterion Theatre – Betsy – 1888
A Victorian theatre programme for Betsy at the Criterion Theatre, London, dated 26 September 1888. The cast included William Blackely, A Bouciault, Lottie Venne and Edith Penrose.
Betsy is a farcical comedy by F. C. Burnand, adapted from the French, which first proved a great success at the Criterion in 1879.
Programmes from the 1880s West End are genuinely scarce, making this a superb example for collectors of old theatre programmes and Victorian theatre history.
