Programme for a revival at the Royal Alhambra Theatre in London of the Offenbach comic opera “The Grand Duchess”. The limited run had commenced on 1 April 1878 – this programme was printed on 16th April. Lead roles were taken by Cornelie d’Anka, Henry Nordblom, Rose Lee and JD Stoyle. The decorative four-page programme was published by The Graphic and has images on the cover of scenes from other musical pieces by Offenbach and other composers, including the Judge and Plaintiff in the Gilbert & Sullivan “Trial by Jury”.
