Small handbills like this were handed out locally and seldom survived, making them an appealing piece of theatre memorabilia from the 1950s.

- Theatre clubs were private membership venues, which in the 1950s allowed them to stage work outside the Lord Chamberlain’s censorship of public theatres.
- Stage censorship by the Lord Chamberlain was only abolished by the Theatres Act 1968.
- Paul Raymond, later the Soho impresario, toured variety in this period before founding the Raymond Revuebar in 1958.
