About this Gwendolen Jackson watercolour
The Pig and Whistle is an original watercolour by Gwendolen Jackson (born 1919), measuring 10 x 14 inches and sold unframed. It is a genuine painted picture, not a print, from the artist’s recent studio sale. Her paintings mostly date from the 1950s and record the pubs, streets and workplaces of mid-century Britain. Alongside our theatre memorabilia we offer original watercolour paintings by British artists, a characterful addition for collectors of British social history.
The large size is = 10" X 14".
The paintings and drawings came from her studio sale recently. The majority date from the 1950s and offer an insight into life in the mid 20th century both rural and industrial. Little is documented about this artist but her work speaks for itself. She did however teach art in secondary schools like many talented artist did to earn a stable income.
Again we state it is your choice to decide if this is genuine, we are not selling these as genuine, but they may well be, no returns, sorry.
Condition: V Good, vlcr, pin holes in the corners (what the codes mean)
