London Prince Of Wales Theatre – White Silk Dress – 1897

A Victorian programme from the Prince Of Wales Theatre, London, dated 29 January 1897, for The White Silk Dress, with Arthur Cecil Roberts, Kitty Loftus, Chas Rock and Pierrette Amella.

The 1890s were a golden age of musical comedy and farce in the West End, as theatres competed to draw fashionable audiences with songs, pretty dresses and topical jokes.

A lovely survival from Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee year, this is a charming piece among old theatre programmes.
