About this Dover Choral Union programme
An original programme for the Dover Choral Union’s Opera Gems concert at Dover Town Hall, dated 21 April 1926. The soloists include Alice Nayler, Herbert Thorpe, Winter Coppin and Alfred Dixon. Concerts of operatic highlights were a favourite with local choral societies between the wars, bringing popular arias and choruses to audiences who rarely saw full opera productions. A lovely piece of Kent musical history and an appealing addition to a collection of old theatre programmes and concert bills.
