London New Theatre – Crime And Punishment – 1946 Signed Gielgud
An original 1946 theatre programme for Crime And Punishment at the New Theatre, London, signed by John Gielgud on the cast list at the top left.
Rodney Ackland’s adaptation of Dostoevsky’s novel starred Gielgud as Raskolnikov, the student who commits murder, with Edith Evans, Jessie Evans, Donald Finlay and Sebastian Cabot.
A Gielgud autograph on a programme from one of his own productions is a highly desirable piece of signed theatre memorabilia and a superb example of old theatre programmes.
