Black and White Minstrel Show Programme – 1960s Leslie Crowther
An original souvenir brochure for The Black and White Minstrel Show on tour in the early 1960s, featuring the Minstrels with Leslie Crowther, Margo Henderson, George Chisholm, Daphne Ford and Heather Angus.
The show, which began on BBC television, was enormously popular at the time, though its blackface performances are now rightly regarded as offensive. It is offered here purely for historical purposes.
An important, if uncomfortable, document of British entertainment history for researchers and collectors of theatre memorabilia.
