Cambridge Arts Theatre – School For Husbands – 1944
An original wartime programme for Molière’s The School For Husbands at The Cambridge Arts Theatre, dated 24 July 1944.
The cast includes Alison Pickard, Percy Cartwright, Anne Johnson, Peggy Burt, Maitland Moss and John Wentworth.
Molière’s comedy contrasts two brothers’ opposite approaches to raising the young women they intend to marry, with predictably comic results.
Classic comedies kept wartime audiences laughing, and this is a charming example of old theatre programmes from 1944.
