London Westminster Theatre – An Ideal Husband – 1943

A wartime programme from the Westminster Theatre, London, dated 15 December 1943, for Oscar Wilde’s An Ideal Husband, with Rosamund Greenwood, John Vere, Esme Percy, Martita Hunt, Roland Culver and Townsend Whitling.

Wilde’s sparkling comedy follows the upright politician Sir Robert Chiltern, whose career is threatened when the scheming Mrs Cheveley reveals a scandalous secret from his past.

A distinguished cast in a much-loved classic make this a fine piece among old theatre programmes of the 1940s.
