Edinburgh Theatre Royal – The Heir At Law – 1819
A genuine antique single sheet theatre programme for The Heir At Law at the Theatre Royal, Edinburgh, dated 7 July 1819. The cast included Mr Chippendale and Mr J Farren.
George Colman the Younger’s comedy tells of a humble family suddenly raised to a peerage, and features the pompous tutor Dr Pangloss, one of the best-loved comic roles of the period.
Georgian playbills are among the rarest of all theatre ephemera, making this an outstanding piece for collectors of old theatre programmes.
