Peter Tearman – Cubist nude – Oil on board Painting
A cubist nude painting in oil on a stiff board, 12” x 16”, by Peter Tearman (1917–1994), believed to date from the 1960s. It is a genuine painted picture, not a print.
Tearman studied at the Slade School under William Coldstream, and his work reflects the struggle, humility and social themes his contemporaries were exploring.
A distinctive piece of mid-century British art, sold unframed exactly as acquired.
